EXCLUSIVE: Cinephobia Releasing has acquired North American rights to this Argentinian BFI Flare selection A Few Feet Away (A Metros De Distancia), which director Tadeo Pestaña Caro is talking about to international buyers here.
Max Suen stars as Santiago, a 20-year-old gay man frustrated with dating apps who spends a night searching for genuine connection. Malena Suárez produced, while Caro and Eugenia Gonzalía served as executive producers.
Cinephobia plans to support a festival run through summer and autumn before releaseing at the end of the year. President Raymond Murray negotiated the deal with Caro on behalf of his production company Mesa Chica Cine.
“A Few Feet Away is about how lonely it can feel to live in a world where everything – and everyone – is just a scroll away”, said Caro. “It’s a queer story about trying to figure out who you are at a time when everyone seems to be performing a version of themselves online.
